What isReal processes
isReal analyzes only screenshots you deliberately select. When you run a check, the app resizes and securely uploads that selected screenshot together with your language setting for analysis.
Screenshot analysis disclosure
During onboarding, isReal explains that selected screenshots are securely uploaded for analysis. The app provides one clear “I understand” action before completing onboarding. Existing users see this disclosure once before their next check. isReal does not save uploaded screenshots.
Information sent for analysis
The selected screenshot and your language setting are sent securely to our server so we can produce a scam-risk report. Screenshots may include private conversations or personal information, so you should avoid submitting content you do not want analyzed.
How information is used
- To identify common scam warning signs and prepare safer next steps.
- To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve isReal.
- To prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations.
Service providers
We use infrastructure and analysis providers, including Vercel and OpenAI, to process requests on our behalf. Requests to OpenAI are configured not to be stored by the API. Apple and Google process purchases, subscriptions, and payment information under their own privacy terms. Our website is hosted on Cloudflare infrastructure.
Scan history and retention
Saved scan reports are stored locally on your device. isReal does not save the selected screenshot in your scan history. A screenshot is held only long enough to process the request. Server and infrastructure providers may retain limited operational and security logs according to their policies.
Your choices
You can delete individual saved reports in the app and remove all locally stored data by deleting the app. Where subscriptions are available, you can manage or cancel them through your device's app store. You can control notification permission in system settings.
Children
isReal is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security and changes
We use reasonable safeguards, but no system is completely secure. We may update this policy as the product changes and will post the current version on this page with a revised effective date.
